Your AC VS Arizona Monsoon: What To-Do?

Arizona is known for it's Monsoon Season and as we all might enjoy the relief these storms bring the dust is one of the effects we could do without.  When the dust comes through the valley with slight to extreme rain the dust sticks to whatever it settled upon including your air conditioner.  When dust settles on your air conditioner coils it restricts the air flow which decreases efficiency and increases your utility costs.

And of course, we are all about savings those precious wasted energy dollars.

What You Can Do:
Rinse your outside condensing unit with a hose to keep dust and debris from reducing efficiency.

Turn off the power to the unit at the breaker box.  Turn on your garden hose and rinse the coils off.  After rinsing, clean all debris and leaves from around the bottom of your unit.  Turn on the power at the circuit breaker.

*Do not use any type of cleaner.
*Do not use a high pressure washer.
(You  do not want to bend the fins of the coil)
*Do not spray any circuit boards or electronic parts.
